KGM 'You're laughing' TVC

In our partnership with KGM, now spanning more than four years, we’ve had enormous success with one particular ingredient: the unmistakable presence of Aussie cricket legend Merv Hughes. Merv has become a natural fit for KGM’s flagship Musso dual-cab ute. His straight-talking personality, unmistakable moustache and classic Aussie humour perfectly match the Musso’s tough, no-nonsense appeal.

For this automotive TV commercial, the idea was deliberately simple. From the very first frame, we leaned into Merv’s larrikin personality and let that energy carry the entire spot. The result is a light-hearted piece of automotive advertising that’s confident, playful and unmistakably Australian. It’s the kind of idea that leaves the audience with a smile, and we’d challenge anyone to watch it without having a bit of a chuckle.

The project is also a great reminder that when it comes to automotive TVCs, you don’t always need a massive budget to create impact. A clear idea, the right casting and confident execution can go a long way.
